Mesh Measurements Welded Wire Mesh
Mesh would be the variety of openings per lineal inch. Mesh is definitely measured in the centers from the wires.
When Welded Wire Mesh is in excess of one (that is, the openings are over 1 inch), mesh is measured in inches. For example, a 2-inch (2") mesh is two inches from center to center. Mesh is not the same as opening size.
The real difference between 2 mesh and a couple-inch mesh is illustrated from the examples inside right column.
